Clinician: Mike Schall, coach at Triangle Volleyball Club
Purpose: To focus on various skills using an atypical game approach
How it works: In a baseball game, one team pitches while the other tries to score as many runs as possible. This competitive 6-on-6 drill replicates that basic structure by having one player serve until her team gets three sideouts. During that same “half-inning,” the opposing side is trying to score as many points as possible. Neither side rotates until each has had an opportunity to serve. Tally the score at the end of each of these half-innings.
Requirements: 12 players, a cart of balls, a full court and a scoreboard
