Purpose: To train players how to execute an emergency “pancake” dig
How it works: This digging drill uses just a small area of the court with player 1 at the net and player 2 about 10 feet away. Player 1 gets down on one knee and drops the ball in front of her. Player 2 must dive forward and slide her hand under the ball before it bounces a second time.
Variations: Player 1 may omit the bounce and instead toss the ball in the air for player 2 to pancake.
Requirements: Two players, one ball, and 1/4 of the court
