Beth Launiere, University of Utah head coach, was recently selected as one of Volleyball Magazine’s top 10 coaches in the country. However, she was surprised to find she was one of only two women on the list.
Launiere understands the importance of having female coaches in a volleyball program and knows that a positive female role model can have a lasting impact on young players.
While the number of female coaches in the NCAA is declining at an alarming rate, she believes that if female coaches can develop balance and a good support system, it could ultimately keep them in the game.
