Mark Rosen of the University of Michigan periodically reassesses his staff to ensure that each member is being used in an efficient, dedicated manner. Rosen also advocates for being flexible with staff. Rosen has historically organized his staff around training certain positions, but he felt that the training plan had gotten stiff. To re-shuffle the system, Rosen split up coaches by skills. Rosen took on player movement while his assistant coaches were assigned to setting, hitting and serving. Keeping an open mindset about how to organize staff during practice allows for constant excitement and growth.
