Jim Stone demonstrates a blocking system in which the left front hitter assists the middle blocker with quick attacks coming from the opposing middle hitter. This system is great for when the opposing team has a great middle attacker and a weaker right-side attacker.
How it's set up: The left front blocker helps the middle blocker with attacks coming to the middle of the court. In this blocking system, the outside hitter starts between the middle blocker and her regular blocking position near the pin. As the middle hitter hits a quick attack, the outside hitter takes a few quick steps towards the middle blocker and reaches her hand inside to get a block touch.
