Toss-ins drill requires players to make a decision about how they are going to play the ball based on the coach's call. If the coach tosses the ball in and calls " third ball," the receiving team has to play it over on one touch. If the coach calls "second ball," it is played over on two touches. If the call is "first ball," it's played over on three touches.
Once the receiving team returns the ball to the other side, the point is played out. The coach can determine how to distribute the toss-in. It might be awarded to the team that wins the point, or it might go three times in a row to one team and then switch to the other team.
