Purpose: Work on timing, approach tempo and strong acceleration for outside hitters.
How it works: Have three passers in left back. Passers receive serves one at a time and then move out to the outside position and hit an outside attack. Focus on the player's approach: they should start the approach slow, and then accelerate during the last two steps. Arm movement should be exaggerated to help gain height in the jump. Work towards your players getting more consistent about timing. When a ball leaves the setter's hands, a good hitter should always be at the same spot in their approach.
Requirements: At least 4 players, a full court and balls.
