During serve receive, players must constantly adjust their footwork to successfully handle the variety of passes that come their way. One of the most common footwork patterns to teach your players is the step-shuffle move. Another typical pattern is the step-shuffle-knee drop, which is useful for handling short serves.
If a player is deep but has short-serve responsibility, she may need to run to the front court, extend her platform out like a tabletop, and use her legs to get low enough to contact the ball while keeping it on her side of the court. Check out the video for a demo!
