Once in season, it’s important to stat your matches. You can then use this information to identify areas your team needs to work on. So which statistics should you track?
Coach Kyle Mashima suggests taking stats on serving and serve receive at a minimum. For a more complete view of your team’s performance, it’s helpful to also stat attacks, digs and free ball passing.
Using a stat app allows you to track even more with a minimal amount of effort. He recommends tracking serves and serve receive along with end-of-rally stats. Doing so allows you to watch the action and still have time to enter the rally stats after the whistle blows. This is especially useful if you’re a solo coach.
