This drill, shared by Jen Flynn Oldenburg, adds attacking as a progression from this digging and setting drill.
Like the other drill, this one starts with the coach hitting a ball at a digger, who digs to a setter. The setter then sets to the first person in a hitting line on either the right or left side of the court.
One of the purposes of this drill is to help players become well-rounded.
"Everybody should be able to dig a ball," Flynn Oldenburg says. "Everybody should be able to set an out-of-system ball. Everybody should be able to hit a ball hard to a corner. We want our liberos taking swings at the ball. ... I think this gives an appreciation for our pin hitters ... understanding how high that ball needs to be, where it needs to be."
This drill is played to 25, meaning the team needs to hit 25 balls in a row into the court. If a ball hits the tape, the whole team goes back to zero. The scoring can vary depending on what the coaches want to emphasize.
