Purpose: Ebbs explains and demonstrates exercises that mimic the realistic multidirectional movements on the volleyball court.
How it Works: The player will perform a basic lateral jump over a hurdle. Next, the player performs a later jump and then immediately jumps onto the box; increase the height of the box to challenge jumping ability. The player then performs a series of double-leg to single-leg hops in and out of the hurdles, putting "game stress" on the body.
Variations: For younger athletes, decrease the height of the hurdles and box. Gauge the athleticism and health of the athlete before having them perform multi-planer plyometrics.
Requirements: Hurdles, box jumps.
