Clinician: Lauren Carlini, four-time NCAA All-American and member of the USA National Team
Purpose: To train players to execute a side set
How it works:
The setter stands with her right side perpendicular to a wall. She tosses the ball in the air, then side sets to the wall on her right. To ensure proper form, watch that the player sets over her left ear as she shifts her weight from left to right and leans her body slightly toward the wall. Next, the setter catches the ball and turns her body so her left side is nearest the wall. This time she’ll side set against the wall on her left. Continue side setting, alternating from right to left.
Variations: None
Requirements: 1 player, a ball, 5 feet of floor and wall space, and a coach
