Hawaii women's volleyball coach Dave Shoji talks here about why coaches shouldn't adopt a one-size-fits-all philosophy.
In his view, coaches should communicate the basics to their players, then "stay out of their way" and let them figure out the game by playing uninterrupted volleyball. If you're correcting flaws, great. But he's convinced that it's "wrong" to tell a player that "this is the only way to get better."
