Jim Stone shares two offensive concepts that should be considered when creating an offensive system: Overload and isolate.
-
Overload: Stacking multiple attackers in a small area of the court and leaving one hitter at the opposite pin in order to put pressure on the opposing blockers to decide whether or not to leave their base position.
-
Isolate: When you overload one side of the court, that means the other side of the court is isolated - giving ample opportunity for the isolated attacker to have an open court.
-
Overloading with no isolation: Stack all your attackers in a small area to overwhelm the middle blocker to choose her area of responsibility.
-
Left side stack: All three attackers are on the left side of the court, and then the right side attacker approaches for the slide and the middle attacker comes in for a quick set.
