Ken Bentley shares three of his most important tips for better volleyball:
- For hitters and servers, always approach with a sense of urgency. In this case, being late to an approach or serve will urge players to explosively attack the ball. Resist players' urge to leave early, which can take away any power generated.
- The middle finger directs the ball. When hitting, wherever your middle finger points to is where the rest of the hand points. Keep players aware of their hand placement on the ball. ALWAYS start a game or practice with a hitting progression, in order to avoid shoulder injuries.
- It's never too early to get the ball over the net, no matter the cost. If a set, pass or dig isn't perfect, players can sometimes give up on the ball or admit defeat. Instead, get the ball over the net no matter the situation.
