Beach volleyball players need to be comfortable moving in the sand. In this video, former Oregon State player Camille Saxton demonstrates 3 passing and movement drills to help train for the beach.
- Full-court cone passing – Helps players learn to take big, fast steps, apply “push” to the ball and finish toward the target.
- Serve-receive passing – Trains players to sprint to the ball, stop and angle arms back to center, then finish pass to target.
- 180-degree passing – Teaches players to react quickly, cover whole court and move aggressively toward the ball.
