Rice University coach Genny Volpe knows the importance of keeping the game fun. That’s why she runs this one-of-a-kind drill that focuses on celebration rather than fundamentals. That’s right. Celebration. Check out her 6-on-6 celebration drill to see how exactly fist pumping and handstands are scored.
Players divide into teams of 6, and a normal game is played with traditional rotation and rules. The caveat: each play is worth up to 5 points. The coach awards extra points to the scoring team for impressive celebration and energy.
Volpe gives her players 5 seconds after each play to do their whooping and hollering before she awards points and a new play begins.
