Julianne Faucette, former athlete with the Women's U.S National Team, talks about how to use the knowledge you've gained from your competitive days to inform your life both during and after your volleyball career.
Stay physically fit, both by maintaining an exercise regimen and replenishing your body by eating nutritious meals. Another essential component is knowing when to recover and rest. That includes proper rest, foam rolling and stretching, and taking off days. Work hard, physically and mentally, in every scenario you find yourself in.
The most essential component of succeeding in life both during and after your athletic career is being a good teammate. Learning to work with those around you while being supportive, kind and ambitious is critical wherever your career may land you. Learning to be a good teammate starts at a young age, so always be looking for ways in which you can be more of a team player.
