Players line up in one of the six rotations then the coach chips in a free ball to either side. The rally is played out and the winning side gets the next free ball. Free balls are entered to the rally-winning side until one side converts three free balls in a row and subsequently earns the opportunity to serve at 14-13 in set five.
The set is played out normally until one side wins by two. If the serving team wins the set, they earn what he calls “a big point” and both sides rotate. If the receiving team wins the set, the score is washed and both sides rotate.
