Mark Barnard shows a simple passing progression drill that helps players get passing repetitions from different serving angles.
Three passers line up in the back row with one setter in left front. One at a time, a server from the right back (Zone 1) serves one ball to left back, then middle back, then right back. Next, a server from Zone 6 serves to the three passers. Lastly, a server from Zone 5 serves to all three passers.
Once the sequence is complete, the passers move one position to the right to switch the zone they are passing in. Repeat the serving progression.
Lastly, one passer gets a serve from each of the serving zones rapid-fire (Zones 1, 5 and 6).
