When recruiting, some coaches find the best talent in multi-sport athletes. One of those coaches is Christy Johnson-Lynch of Iowa State University. But in order to honor those other sports, recruiting coaches should encourage players to not give up their other sports for volleyball, and to keep doing what feeds them and fuels their passion.
Playing multiple sports in high school can enhance a player's lateral movement, strength and competitive drive - and often college coaches are looking for exactly that adaptability and well-rounded athleticism that those athletes bring to the table.
