This drill is all about creating a game-like situation by simulating a bad pass at the beginning of each play. Holly McPeak stands behind the 2 players and tosses balls all over the court, making the setter scramble and the hitter adjust to whatever the setter is able to do with the ball.
Among the points of emphasis in this video are lifting the ball on the set so the hitter has time to get there, getting wide on the hitting approach if the ball is near or beyond the sideline (when it's being set by the inside player) and waiting on the hitting approach so you don't end up underneath the ball.
Players have 5 different targets to aim for: sharp cut on the left or right, sharp crosscourt angle and deep corner on both sides.
