Discourse between head coaches and assistant coaches is an integral part of growing and learning as a coach. That being said, it's important to have mutual respect for one another and ultimately it's the head coach's job to make final decisions. If the assistant coach has a poor attitude about head coach decisions or isn't on board with those decisions in front of athletes, it can create major division within the team.
When you walk outside the team room and into a match, everyone needs to be on the same page in order to compete to the team's best ability.
